”How can we help every young person, regardless of their background, find a future that is both desired and achievable?”
Objective: Develop an innovative digital solution that supports young people in their orientation journey while facilitating connections with existing resources.
Discover
Objective: Understand the context, needs, and expectations of users, as well as the constraints of the problem to be solved.
This involves both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Data is collected and analyzed to identify opportunities, challenges, and avenues for innovation.
Analysis of key influence factors: family, personal, socio-cultural, academic environments…
Interviews with 22 individuals: students, parents, teachers, career counselors
Benchmarking orientation systems in France and abroad
Define
Objective: Synthesize the collected information, clearly articulate the problem, and define the project's objectives and success criteria.
This stage uses visualization tools such as personas, user journeys, and empathy maps. The problem is framed as an open question to guide the next phase.
Key objectives:
Help young people understand their strengths and interests
Connect them with the right resources at the right time
Gamify the experience to encourage consistent use
Involve parents moderately in the process
Key findings:
Identification of 4 user profiles:
-
Every individual is influenced by spheres of influence and societal pressures in their career choices. Four behavioral profiles were identified: the passionate, the opportunist, the strategist and the lost.
-
The family environment and social circle impact identify formation through social capital, socio-economic conditions and available resources, creating disparities between peoples.
-
A lack of confidence and self-awareness leads to uncertainty and demotivation. Young people need to build confidence by understanding themselves and their environment to make informed career decisions.
-
Career stereotypes and parental influence can bias career choices. Career choices should reflect personal aspirations, free from stereotypes.
-
In France, the numerous career guidance stakeholders and poorly defined roles create organizational complexity and conflicts, hindering young people from finding their path.
Develop
Objective: Generate solution ideas based on collected insights, using creativity and collective intelligence. This phase involves brainstorming techniques such as mind mapping, sketching, and scenario building.
The most promising ideas are selected and combined according to the objectives and criteria defined in the previous phase.
